POSITION SUMMARY

Works under supervision and reports to Shawn Luo, RN BScN MN. The candidate works up to 4 hours per week (may include evenings and/or weekends) for no more than 19 weeks. Research work includes a scoping review of ChatGPT in the literature, creating an annotated bibliography, screening references, extracting methods data, coding extracted data, and data analysis input. The successful incumbent demonstrates proficiency in literature search strategies and database management. Additionally, the successful candidate has strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills and can work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and organize relevant literature on ChatGPT
  • Summarize key findings and contribute to the development of an annotated bibliography.
  • Conduct systematic screening of references using Covidence (training available) to identify relevant research articles.
  • Collaborate with the research team to ensure inclusion and exclusion criteria are met.
  • Extract relevant data from selected research articles, focusing on the practical application and integration of ChatGPT in teaching and learning processes within nursing undergraduate education.
  • Utilize the coding scheme established by the primary investigator to categorize and code extracted data.
  • Collaborate with the research team to interpret findings and draw meaningful conclusions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivilent.
  • Successful completion of BNUR1009 is required.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn more about scoping review methodologies and research synthesis.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in literature search strategies and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements: 

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location. 

Salary & Terms

  • Start Rate: $17.20 – $25.48/hour, (plus 6% in lieu of vacation)
  • Hours per week: 4

  • Must be currently enrolled in Full-Time studies at St. Lawrence College.
  • Must be in good academic standing for full duration of employment.
