What is Sail to Success?

A half-day transition program focusing on self-advocacy, peer connections, and specialized services for students with disabilities.

It will be offered virtually this fall (2020).

Who is Sail to Success for?

Any 1st year student from any of our 3 campuses who self-identifies as having a disability (e.g. had an IEP in high school, plan to access academic accommodations, have visited a guidance/counselling office).

How To Register:

Register in one of 2 ways!

Register using the UR SLC app. UR SLC connects you to all orientation info, campus events, activities, and much more from your first year to graduation!

1. Download UR SLC from the App Store or Google Play

2. Login using your SLC.ME login and password

3. Set up your account

a. You can add a picture, link to your social media, and so much more!

b. Choose your campus (you will only be able to see events on your campus)

4. Click on the CAMPUS tab at the bottom

5. At the top you'll see Events - you may need to click 'view all'

6. Click Sail to Success @ SLC

a. Read the FAQ’s


c. Add 1 (one) STUDENT Ticket for yourself

d. If you have Parent/Guardian(s) coming with you - Add up to 2 PARENT/GUARDIAN Ticket(s)

e. Click Next

f. Click CHECKOUT and you’re in!

To see your tickets on the Campus tab at the bottom you’ll be able to see a button named ‘My Tickets’

A Transition to Employment Workshop for Students with Disabilities & Functional Limitations

  • Are you planning for employment?

HERE to HIRE is a workshop for students with disabilities & functional limitations who are preparing for transition to employment. 

Topics explored:

  • Employee rights
  • Legal protections (AODA, OHRC)
  • Employer responsibilities
  • Disclosure and workplace accommodations
  • Market trends, employability, and the hidden job market
  • Resume building, online job searching tips, cover letter advice
