What Your Virtual Ceremony Will Look Like

  • Convocation Ceremony (formal address from the President, and Dean or Campus Dean)
  • Invite your family and friends to watch with you! A shareable link will be sent to your SLC student email
  • Video Messages from your Valedictorian, Students’ Association President, and more
  • Pre-Ceremony Reception with your professors and classmates – this one is just for you
  • Virtual shout-outs from your friends, family, professors, and classmates via social media

What We Need From You

  • Make sure your email address and home address are correct in This is the email address we will use to send your official Convocation invitation at the end of May and your home address will be used to mail your credential
  • Watch for emails from and pay attention to the very important deadlines. In these emails, there will be information on how to register for Convocation

Yes! Class of 2021 virtual ceremonies have been scheduled on the following dates:

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Public Health regulations, we will not be hosting in-person celebrations.

Yes! Your Student Governments have arranged a photographer to take graduation photos on campus. 

Please visit to book your appointment.

In accordance with St. Lawrence College’s COVID-19 Safety Protocols, students coming to campus for graduation photos MUST complete the following steps before accessing campus: 

  1. Complete the COVID-19 Health & Safety Awareness Training: A Guide for Students Returning to Campus 
  2. Confirm your acceptance of the Student Conduct Agreement for COVID-19 (the form can be found in the training above) 
  3. Ensure the SLC Safe app is on your phone or device so you are prepared for the screening to access campus. Download from Apple Store or Google Play. You will be required to complete the questionnaire each time you come to campus.  

Students will be provided with an SLC lanyard by Security when arriving on campus for their photograph. This will need to be returned to Security after their photo session unless they have a current on-campus learning requirement.

Students will be denied entry to the campus if they do not complete the above requirements.

Credentials for the Class of 2021 will begin printing at the end of the Winter 2021 term, which ends April 30.

Please ensure your address is up to date on your self-serve as this is the address your credential will be mailed to.

Official transcripts are provided by request. Request a Transcript from SLC

Graduate clearing and printing of official credentials are done at the end of the academic term you are finishing in. Therefore, the term you complete your studies in needs to be officially over prior to this process being completed. For example, Winter 2021 term finishes April 30.

Yes! A link will be shared to your student email and you will be able to share it with family and friends.

We will be offering something different and exciting to celebrate the Class of 2021. The Class of 2021 will be able to pick their own Class of 2021 item! More information on this will be released soon. Keep checking this page and your SLC student email.

Yes! The videos will be available to view after the ceremony and to share with family and friends who may not be able to make the scheduled event. Links will be shared to your SLC student email for graduates to share.

Yes, the virtual ceremonies will have subtitles.

The Valedictorian and the President’s Lists awards will be presented during the virtual Convocation ceremonies.

All other awards will be announced on SLC social media pages and listed on the website and digital ceremony program. You do not need to apply for these awards.

Are you an outstanding student or do you know an outstanding student who is graduating this year? You should nominate them or apply to be your campus’s Valedictorian!

There will be one Valedictorian selected per campus who will record their speech that will be presented during a virtual ceremony in June. 

The deadline to submit Valedictorian nominations is Friday, April 16, 2021.

Forms can be printed off from the Valedictorian webpage. All completed Valedictorian application forms should be submitted to by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021.

To be fair to all students, late submissions will not be considered. An email to students with instructions on applying to be the Valedictorian will be sent to students' SLC email.

Are you interested in applying or nominating someone for one of the most prestigious awards given by the College?

The President’s List Award recognizes graduates who have rendered valuable and distinguished service to the College community. Eligibility is based on academic excellence including graduating with distinction along with interest and activities involving leadership, citizenship, and community service.

The deadline to apply for the President’s List Award is Friday, April 16, 2021.

The form can be found on the Awards webpage. Please submit your application package to by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021.

Graduates will be celebrating during a virtual ceremony and will receive a Class of 2021 commemorative item. Watch out in and around your communities for billboards and signs and make sure you’re tuned into your local radio station to hear special congratulations messages!
