Overview
This program is designed for students, who have little or no knowledge of French, to reach a level of oral expression and comprehension that enables them to converse in everyday and professional situations. Emphasis is placed on interpersonal communication. Grammar and vocabulary progress from simple sentences and words to being more complex and varied. Reading and writing are part of the program as these are fundamental language skills. Students learn through a variety of engaging and interactive activities that build confidence in communicating in French.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Express themselves orally in social and professional situations using a variety of sentence structures and vocabulary that suit the purpose.
- Comprehend and discuss written and spoken materials related to social and professional situations.
- Compose written material for a variety of intended audiences.

Admission Requirements
To register for courses you must hold an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) or the equivalent, or must qualify for mature student status (19 years of age or older).
New students must attend an assessment before starting a course. A quick interview with the instructor will determine which course is appropriate for you.
