BIOL 1200

This course begins with an introduction to some of the more common methods of assessment used in the diagnosis of pathophysiological conditions. The inflammatory process is covered in some detail, as cell injury, in one form or another, is the basis of disease conditions in the body. The healing process is also taught. The course of pathological conditions for the following systems will be covered: integumentary, skeletal, muscular, blood/cardiovascular, and lymphatic/immune.  The etiology of many pathophysiological conditions, as well as their clinical manifestations, associated changes in cell/organ structure and function, principal diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and prognosis, will be stressed.
