Position SUmmary

The Program Liaison ensures the efficient and effective operation of the Community Integration through Cooperative Education (CICE) program by providing program guidance and specialized support to the program team, facilitating the tasks involved in program delivery and advising the Program Manager, Program Coordinator, and ISP Associate Dean with respect to program planning and day to day operational issues. Primary tasks include facilitating the intake and guidance of students to plan an individualized program of study to fulfill the requirements to graduate, as well as liaison with college employees/community groups to develop opportunities for students and problem-solve challenges as they arise.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a 3-year Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences or Education. Advanced studies in a field related to Special Education.

A minimum of 5 years of practical experience working with individuals who have intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury, or similar challenges which significantly impact learning. Work experience with students in a post-secondary educational environment. Demonstrated ability to manage projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment using a strong collaborative approach.
  • Willingness to advise the Associate Dean, ISP on program-related matters.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build professional networks within the College and the community.
  • Knowledge of Community Integration through Cooperative Education (CICE) programs would be considered an asset.

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location. Occasional visits to placements or community agencies. Occasional participation in provincial CICE committee meetings.

    • Start Rate: $38.09/hour
