Duties

Reporting to the Manager, Academic Operations, the incumbent provides academic administrative support services primarily for the programs and students in the Faculty of Applied Science, Technology and Trades. Supports students by providing program information from registration and enrollment through to graduation. Assists with ensuring the integrity and reconciliation of fee collection.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Minimum 2-year Community College Diploma in Office Administration (or equivalent).

Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible work experience in a computerized office environment providing secretarial/clerical support.

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency using a variety of computer applications - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), student/financial information systems (PeopleSoft) and Point of Sale (POS) machine
  • Solid understanding of office procedures and practices
  • Effective interpersonal, listening and communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Knowledge of school operations and College/Campus organization
  • Detail-oriented and accurate
  • Respect for confidentiality
  • Team player
  • Tactful and diplomatic
  • Customer service oriented

Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:

Normal computerized office environment. Occasional light lifting (up to 5 kg or 11 lbs.) to retrieve and transport files/paperwork as required.

The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location or work temporarily from a remote location with reliable internet access, as approved by the College and in accordance with the college’s Telework Policy.
