Reporting directly to the Manager of the Centre for Behavioural Services (CBS), the CBS Facilitator is responsible for providing services to a variety of clients and client groups. The CBS Facilitator assists and supports Faculty and student Behavioural research and practical projects, as part of the academic curriculum.
They work closely with Faculty and students to facilitate interprofessional experiential learning and practical application of behavioural science within a wide range of client populations. They support student placements and are a member of the CBS student Committee and the CBS Planning and Review Committee. As directed by the Manager, they may provide direct behavioural service under supervision by the relevant clinician (e.g., Psych Associate, Psychotherapist, SLP, BCBA.). The Facilitator may assist clinicians in conducting assessments, the development of support plans, the support to caregivers and others, in implementation of plans and maintaining client files. They assist in the development and delivery of educational and clinical groups and training packages, for caregivers, community clients and others.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of a 4-year degree, or equivalent, in Behavioural Science or Behavioural Psychology.
A minimum of 5 years of direct experience working in the field of behavioural psychology or applied behaviour analysis in a community or institutional setting. Current First Aid, CPR training is required (can be obtained after hire date).

- Effective presentation skills
- Follow direction from supervisors in developing effective training packages for clients
- Understanding of adult education and utilization of facilitation skills
- Ability to conduct parent and professional development workshops
- Ability to work with clients, family members and caregivers to implement a behavioural support plan
- Effective team member
- Ability to analyze the client’s functional abilities and to determine the possible elements of a support plan to improve the functional abilities of the client.
Physical/Work Environment Essential Requirements:
The successful incumbent must have the ability to report to the work location. When working with clients with physical/mental limitations during therapy sessions, light lifting of up to 5kg or 11lbs may be required. Medium lifting (between 5 to 20 kg and 11 to 44 lbs.) may occasionally be required, when working with young children (facilitator may need to lift/assist the child from floor to a seat). When working with clients with physical/mental limitations during therapy sessions some physical effort may be required for a duration of 1-2 hours at a time. Travel to client’s homes and residences, partner agency sites and research facilities and sites may be required.
