SLC Launches Faith, Culture, and Social Justice Calendar

Update. The St. Lawrence College logo is accompanied by the words Belonging, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion

The Belonging + EDI Task Force is proud to launch the College’s first formal Faith, Culture, and Social Justice Calendar. This calendar is a resource available on our external website to all College employees and students as a tool to further support and advance the College’s value of Belonging.

The Calendar highlights multifaith observances, cultural holidays, and social justice days of significance to our SLC community. It is a fantastic resource for seeing, at a glance, all the pertinent events that are celebrated across the many different communities within SLC.

Some of these religious observances may require that the practicing student, staff, or faculty member fast, abstain from work or study, or participate in all-day or fixed time activities, such as congregational prayer. As with any type of belief, there are followers who are more strict and active in their involvement than others.

If you require information and advice about the accommodation of religious observances, please contact Student Wellness and Accessibility and/or consult the Ontario Human Rights Commission website.

This calendar has been designed and informed by the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI). If you have any other questions or comments, please contact belonging@slc.on.ca.
