Your audition will include one short dance combination that will be taught to you at the beginning of your audition. Be prepared to sing two songs; one ballad and one up tempo. Choose something that is appropriate to your character, personality type and age. Bring your sheet music with you. An accompanist will be provided. Please do not bring a CD, tape or instrument. Please note that a short musical theory assessment will be administered as part of the audition process. The monologue should be from a contemporary play that is age appropriate and not longer than a minute and a half.

Get ready for your audition in 3 easy steps:

  1. Apply for the program at
  2. Complete the audition form and send it to the College, along with your $50.00 audition fee. The fee is $75.00 if you pay on-site on the audition day.
  3. Contact Janet Venn-Jackson, Program Coordinator, at and register for an audition or send in your electronic submission.

  4. Audition times for singing and monologues will be scheduled ONLY when the audition fee is paid in full. You will be directly notified of the time by the Music Theatre - Performance Program Coordinator.

Electronic Submissions

We now accept electronic submissions for those who can't make it to an audition in person. Please note there is a $50.00 fee for electronic submissions, payable by credit card only.

Send us a YouTube submission that includes all required audition elements as detailed on the Application to Audition form. Please ensure you present a classical plié, a classical tendu, a single or double pirouette right and left side, a time step and a one-minute dance combination of the musical theatre genre on your audition YouTube link. Please send your completed YouTube submission to Submissions are accepted from February 1 - August 15, provided the application is fully completed and the fee paid.
