Office Administration - Legal/Health Services

Available at: Brockville | Kingston

A career in office work is challenging, fast-paced, and interesting. In a typical office, you might be required to create/maintain a website, produce flyers, or generate a news letter. You certainly will need to know how to use the Internet for information, travel arrangements, and e-mail processing. Further, you will be expected to manage electronic word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and desktop publishing. ‘Soft skills’ such as the ability to manage your time, greet visitors properly, and answer the telephone effectively are highly valued by employers and taught in this program.

The Legal/Health Services program allows students to graduate with two specializations. Please note that this program has additional tuition fees.

Career Opportunities

  • Graduates from the legal stream find challenging positions in law firms, trust companies, real estate firms, legal departments of large corporations and business/ industry in general.
  • Graduates from the health services stream work in a wide variety of settings (doctors’ offices, hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, and departments of government or industry maintaining health services staff).

Attending the Office Administration - Legal/Medical program was the best decision I could have ever made. I knew I wanted to attend St. Lawrence College after learning they offered the Office Administration Legal and Medical diploma programs to be taken simultaneously. Taking the dual program has created so many opportunities for me. I highly encourage anyone interested in the Office Administration field to take the dual diploma program. The teachers are all so wonderful and dedicated to ensuring success in every student. The placement opportunities really prepared me for entering the work world, especially when I was offered a job from one of my placements.

I am a proud to have graduated with distinction from the Office Administration - Legal/Medical program at St. Lawrence College, and proud of the career path my education has allowed me to achieve.
