Business - Accounting

Available at: Cornwall | Kingston

Overview

St. Lawrence College offers two programs in accounting: Business Administration – Accounting, a three-year program and Business – Accounting, a two-year program. The Business Administration – Accounting program offers students a more intensive background in financial accounting, corporate finance, cost accounting and taxation during the third year.

The first two semesters of most Business programs offer the same curriculum. The curriculum for the remaining semesters focuses on the areas of accounting and finance.

Some of our most successful graduates enroll in the Certified General Accountants program after graduation to obtain their professional designation (CGA). This professional accounting organization gives exemptions for many courses taken during the diploma program, which results in a significant reduction in time required to receive the professional accounting designation.

Testimonials

There are just so many great things to say about the teaching staff in the business program. I always think that they expect a lot from us, getting our homework done and being prepared for class discussion. But we, as students, expected a lot from them as well, being prepared to teach us everything we need to know. I feel the business department did a great job of holding up their end of the bargin.
