This course introduces technical theatre terms and practices with a specific focus on design elements (set, lighting, sound, scenic art and wardrobe) and technical elements in order to prepare students for technical rehearsals in a production.  Students explore the physical machinery, infrastructure of theatre and production staffing skills required in the creation of theatrical productions.

Through systematic assessment of their written assignments and group work students have the opportunity to improve their ability to prepare appropriate designs, drawings and plans and apply knowledge of the key institutions and practices of the Canadian musical theatre industry in order to function effectively as a working professional.
