MATH 5003

This course will deepen students’ engagement with advanced quantitative research. Students will form their own research questions and design advanced quantitative and multi methods studies to address these questions. Students will learn how to validate a questionnaire through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis using continuous and/or categorical data. Other advanced statistical techniques studied include logistical regression, hierarchical linear modelling, and basic structural equation modelling. A special emphasis is placed on how to deal with missing data through imputation (e.g., mean, multiple, and hot deck imputation) and on ethical issues that arise in quantitative research.
