MATH 5001

This course will provide students with the background, tools, and methodologies to perform and analyze results of basic quantitative research studies. Students will learn about data collection, analysis, and interpretation in quantitative research. This course emphasizes the statistical, mathematical, and numerical analysis of data collected through polls, questionnaires, and surveys, and the manipulation pre-existing statistical data using computational techniques. Descriptive and inferential analysis will be performed using relevant statistical software. Inferential parametric and non-parametric statistical tests for one, two, or three or more samples will be covered. Linear/multiple regression, forecasting, and quality control are also covered in this course.
