IETT 531

This course will provide an opportunity for the student to connect, configure, and use modern computers and control software. All aspects of a modern Man Machine Interface (MMI) will be configured including trends, displays, alarms, logging, and operator control functions. Simple and complex control strategies will be configured and implemented. The student will connect a supervisor computer to a variety of equipment (PID Controllers, PLCs, Smart Instruments, etc.), configure appropriate MMI and control strategies representative of modern Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA) or plant Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

Prerequisites: IETT 123, IETT 321, IETT 523
