IETT 131

This is a theoretical control course aimed at determining the controllability of systems and understanding the more advanced control strategies. Students will determine dynamic properties of control systems elements; determine transfer functions of first, second order, and dead-time systems; and select PID algorithms on basis of dynamic system analysis and response. More advanced control algorithms and topics including cascade, feed-forward and multivariable. Practical laboratory projects will require that students analyse components and systems, simulate process systems, select appropriate control strategies, and determine resultant quality of control.

Prerequisites: IETT 121, IETT 122, and IETT 123.
