GENE 123

Social change involves a significant change in a society or culture that has lasting effects on that culture. In this course, students examine their own roles within society and their capacity to be agents of social change. Students have the opportunity to develop a better understanding of a community of their choosing, including the roles that different community members play, societal factors that affect them, perceptions of and within the community, and the role of the community within the larger society. Through experiential learning, students have the chance to initiate a social change project and to examine the impact of this project. (45hrs)
