COMP 74

Web Services are web application components that can be "published" on the web or other network where they can be "consumed" by client applications. Web Services provide an alternative to the standard web application architecture which relies on a server to perform business logic and database transactions to  generate data that is used to dynamically create web pages that are presented to a user in a browser running on a client computer. Web services provide a much more flexible way to configure web applications.
