Pre-Requisites:  CIVL 01 – The Subsurface Environment, MATH 101 – Technical Math, CIVL 24 - Construction Management

A competent civil engineering technologist must have comprehensive knowledge of the engineering properties and relevant specifications of aggregates and concrete. The use and performance of these materials is critical in the design and performance of new and existing infrastructures. Through the integration of theory and lab exercises students investigate aggregate sampling and testing, concrete components and types and properties of Portland cement, concrete mix designs, concrete testing, inspection, placing and curing techniques.
