Pre-Requisites: CIVL 26 - Environmental Management
This course is an introduction to water quality assessment of natural water bodies (inland lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands and ground water) and urban, industrial, and rural surface water run-off. Topics of this course include a discussion of the physical, chemical and biological properties of inland water resources and the potential effects of water pollution on these properties. Consideration will also be given to sampling and analysis of water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, and conductivity. This course relates to water and waste water designs and assessments in the field of Civil Engineering Technology.
