CARP 109

In this course students will study the basics of building science. Specific items such as air and moisture movement, soil deposits, methods of heat transfer, maintaining an acceptable air quality, and mechanical systems will be studied in relation to the life cycle of a residential building and recent changes to the Ontario Building Code. Alternate building styles will also be studied. Students will also study and apply LEED certification to a building project, including the use of green or recycled building products, health and safety and site management.
