CARP 106

In this course students will begin to study the principles used to identify, select and maintain hand tools and portable power tools. The student will learn to incorporate industry standard practices in their safe and efficient use of these tools.

This course will begin to study the principles and practices of shaping and joining lumber and engineered wood products, using wood joints, fasteners and adhesives. The course will also introduce the student to the principles and practices used to build the structural framework for a residential building.

The use of the Imperial and Metric systems of measurement will be developed in this course.
