BIOL 254

This course focuses on the characteristics of natural ecosystems by considering the inter-relations between biotic and abiotic factors. It examines natural and human induced pressures on ecosystems and strategies to promote sustainable development. Included will be an examination of both local and global issues with respect to human influences on ecosystem stability and includes discussions regarding human population growth. A Canadian perspective will be used where possible.
