Course Description: ABSTRACTION IN ACRYLIC
This is a course in pure abstraction, sometimes called non-objective. There will be an emphasis on learning about design and value and on simplification of abstract shapes. We will work on small design projects, then value studies and then go into larger ( 22” x 30”) format on paper, and optionally larger, on canvas. The course will be challenging but amazingly productive--a real learning experience. Bring along a willingness to plunge and a sense of joy!

WEEK 4: JULY 23-27 ... 6 classes to choose from.

WEEK 5: JULY 30 - AUGUST 3 ... 5 classes to choose from.

WEEK 6: AUGUST 13 - 17 ... 1 class.

BURSARIES
Bursaries are available for students with financial need, taking courses at the 1000 Islands Summer School of the Arts. These awards have been made possible through a generous gift donated to the St. Lawrence College Foundation, from the estate of Marianne van Silfhout.
