May we offer a few tips?

    • To avoid confusion, refer to the course code (the 4 letters and series of numbers at the bottom of each course description) and course title information when registering.
    • Due to the volume of telephone calls during registration, a convenient alternative way may be mail-in, drop-off or fax (see below)
    • If you get voice-mail, please leave us a detailed message with your name, phone number, and a time that you can be reached. We will return your call within 24 hours.
    • Register early to ensure your spot in the course, or to avoid cancellation of a course due to insufficient enrolment.
    • We may have to contact you. When registering, please provide us with you current business and home phone number, and email & home address.
    • Confirmation of Registration/Payment.
Your confirmation will be mailed to you. However, due to volume, it may be delayed. Please attend the first night of class unless otherwise notified.

    CLASSROOM LOCATION
Classroom locations are printed on all course confirmation receipts but are subject to change. Please check the room listings. Room numbers are posted at the main entrances of the College the first night of class. Note: Please make your family aware of your classroom number and the course in which you are enrolled. The Freedom of Information and Protection of Individual Privacy Act prevents St. Lawrence College from giving out this information to anyone, including family or friends.

    COURSE CONFIRMATION
Students will be mailed a course confirmation once registered. Use this confirmation as an unofficial tax receipt (for reimbursement purposes). This form includes your student number and course details such as start date, time, room number and fee.

    COURSE CANCELLATION
Every effort will be made to offer courses as listed this semester. All courses are subject to cancellation by the College.

    1. If the College cancels the course, registered students will receive a full refund.
    2. If students registered in a credit course withdraw prior to the second class, and provide notification to the College at that time, a full refund minus a $15 administration fee will be provided. No refund will be given after the second class.
    3. For non-credit courses, workshops, seminars, short courses (1-5 days) and computer modules, notice of withdrawal must be provided at least one week prior to the start date of the course. A full refund minus a $15 administration fee will be provided.
*ed2go courses: transfers and refunds available after start date of courses. Contact ext. 1332 with requests.
    4. Online Courses: See Online Credit page for details.

Note: There will be an academic penalty for credit courses if you do not withdraw through the Continuing Education Office.

    GRADUATION TIMELINES
Students are usually required to complete their program within 200% of the normal program duration. For example, a two (2) year program would have a maximum completion timeframe of four (4) years. Continuing Education/Distance Education postsecondary programs have a time limit for completion of 60 months (some exceptions do apply, contact individual Academic Departments for information). Special Needs students will have their graduation timelines extended to correspond with their formally approved learning plan.
Failure to complete a program within these timelines would require a student to apply for re-admission. Students would then have their courses evaluated for currency and would be subject to the program of studies and curriculum in place at the time of readmission. For students enrolled in full-time studies who are resuming studies after a break of two or more academic semesters, the learning plan resulting from their course evaluation must be approved by the Program Dean and the Registrar. St. Lawrence College does not permit the backdating of diplomas.

    WAIT LISTS
Students who register for a course which is full will be placed on a term wait list, and given priority to register if an opening becomes available. If admitted from a wait list, fees must be paid immediately in order to ensure the space is held. Wait lists do not carry forward to the next term.
