YOU NEED TO GET THROUGH THE COURSE ARE HERE. YOU MIGHT EVEN THINK ABOUT
PRINTING THESE PAGES.
Once your registration is received the college will confirm receipt and provide a set of instructions on how to access the course by emailing you at the address you provide on your registration form.

December 14 2011, Wednesday evening 6pm - 9pm, and December 17 Saturday morning 9am - noon.
(additional date for Kingston: December 15 - Thursday evening 6 to 9).
October intake - January 14, 2012 - Saturday morning 9 to noon.
November intake - February 11, 2012 - Saturday morning 9 to noon.
December intake - March 10, 2012 - Saturday morning 9 to noon.
For WINTER Intakes:

April 20 - Saturday morning 9 am to noon;
(Additional date for Kingston: April 19 - Thursday evening to 9 pm).
February intake = May 12, Saturday morning 9 am to noon.

April intake = July 14, Saturday morning 9 am to noon.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Students who have a final online exam that requires proctoring will be required to visit the computer lab at the Brockville Campus for December 14, 2011 - Wednesday evening 6 to 9 pm and on December 17, 2011 - Saturday morning 9 am to noon. |
Please arrange for the following prior to your course start date:
(1) Ensure that you have an Internet Service Provider
(2) Review the information contained in this set of instructions AND
follow the directions provided to enable you to access the course on
the commencement date.
(3) Once access is given you should Login to the software your course
is utilizing and review any available training materials to familiarize
yourself with your course system.
OntarioLearn has recently developed a Code of Conduct which students
should review as the Code clearly indicates what is considered unacceptable
behaviour. The information will be posted in each classroom.
SOME OF THE SOFTWARE COURSES FINISH UP EARLIER. The earliest you can
access your course is actually on the commencement date and it is important
you access on that date or as soon as possible so you can review the teacher’s
schedule and expectations. To access the course you will be required to
enter a “User ID/Surname” and “Password” and that
information is listed below. You may also be required to download and
install software. Instructions are documented below and also available
online at www.ontariolearn.com

LOGIN INSTRUCTIONS:
To access your course, please go to www.ontariolearn.com and click LOGIN.
Here you will see a full list of courses. Beside each course title, the
platform (or course system) is provided.
- If your course is delivered through the FirstClass system
you will be required to download the FirstClass Client software. Click
on the course title and you will find the download, installation and
login instructions online.
- If your course is delivered through the WebCT or Blackboard
systems you will not be required to download any special software to
access your course. Click on the course title, read the information
on the login page and proceed to login to your course with your UserID
and password.
USER ID – NEW USERID CONFIGURATION:
Example:
(2 digit college code + dash + first 3 characters of firstname + lastname
– to a maximum of 15 characters for the entire userid)
Registering College: St. Lawrence College
Firstname: Johnathan
Lastname: Smith
So the configuration would be: sl-johsmith
PASSWORD: "newone" - this would be your initial password.
After you have successfully logged on, you should change your password.
FINAL EXAMINATIONS:
It is your responsibility to contact Yvonne Klaassen three weeks
prior to the exam to make arrangements to write your final
exam. Not all courses have a final written exam. Please check with your
instructor.
Courses requiring a final written exam, please contact Yvonne at 613-345-0660

approximately three weeks prior to your course end date in order to confirm
which of the three campuses you wish to write (Brockville, Cornwall and
Kingston).
Also note that if you live within 60 kilometers of one of our
campuses (Kingston, Brockville, Cornwall) then you must write
your exam at that campus. A proctor will only be considered if you live
further than 60 kilometers away.
Refunds:
All requests for refunds must be submitted to Yvonne Klaassen
by the date indicated in the same email you receive containing your id & password.
You can fax your request to 613-345-0124 or mail it or deliver it
in person to Yvonne Klaassen at the Brockville Campus. No refunds will
be made after that date.
CERTIFICATES:
If you are working towards one of our online certificates please note
that once you have completed all of the requirements you should contact
our office and request that an Application to Graduate which will be
submitted on your behalf in order to have the certificate sent to you.
If you are requesting transfer credits or equivalencies please note
that it is your responsibility to provide official documentation to
SLC.
IF YOU ENCOUNTER ANY DIFFICULTIES WHILE TAKING THIS COURSE PLEASE DO
NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT THIS OFFICE IN A TIMELY FASHION IN ORDER TO ENSURE
THAT WE CAN ASSIST. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO HELP IF YOU WAIT TOO LONG.
