Overview:
These Gas Technician courses are based on the provincial curriculum
designed and approved by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority
(TSSA) and use CSA modules. Individuals wishing to work on gas-fired
equipment (residential, commercial or industrial) must be certified
by TSSA. For more information, you can visit their website at www.tssa.org
TSSA examinations are administered at the end of each
course and there is an additional application fee of $70 (payable to
TSSA) for each Certificate of Qualification.
The progression toward a GII will be offered in modularized
units with other licenses available as you proceed. The entire process
will take approximately 1 and half years, based on sufficient enrollment,
and the successful licensees will gain more independence within the
job as they progress through the levels.

Where applicable, exam challenges for theoretical portions must be approved directly by TSSA and may be written, by appointment, in the College Test Centre. You will need to present your approval letter at the time you order your examination. There is a $25/hr proctoring fee, payable to St. Lawrence College, in addition to the TSSA examination/application fee. After successful completion of the theory examination (75% minimum), you are responsible for making arrangements with TSSA for your practical assessment.
