Foot Care Nurse Certificate Program

Program Code: K1056

PLEASE NOTE: this program is presently "on hold" for 2010-2011
as we strive for continuous improvement and technological updates.

The 180-hour program is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a foot care nurse within their health care community. This comprehensive advanced and diabetic foot care program follows current Best Practice Guidelines and evidence-based practice. A new Advisory Committee was formed this year making several recommendations for revisions for the 2008-09 Foot Care Nurse Program. See listed below for the new format.

Program Location : Kingston

Entrance Requirements
Each applicant accepted into the program must hold liability insurance; a current non-restricted Nursing Registration/License from their governing body; and have access to a computer, internet and possess computer skills. Pre-screening for entrance requirements will be required prior to registering for this program.

NOTE: At time of printing most provinces, with the exception of Ontario, automatically provide liability insurance with nursing registration. It is the responsibility of each applicant to provide proof of liability insurance and purchase it separately if necessary.

Funding:
For Ontario nurses, contact RNAO & RPNAO for application forms for funding grants up to $1500/year.
