Ontario Premier to visit SLC Kingston campus today

Premier Kathleen Wynne will visit St. Lawrence College’s Kingston campus today as part of her four-day tour of Ontario postsecondary institutions. Her visit will take place today from 4 pm to 5:30 pm.

The premier will be engaging SLC students regarding Ontario’s commitment to making postsecondary education more affordable. While on the College’s Kingston campus, Premier Wynne will visit Essence, our student-run fine dining restaurant, working in the kitchen with culinary students to plate a special Valentine’s Day dessert for Essence’s dinner service this evening.

Following her stop in Essence, the premier will tour the progress of the Hello Future Capital Project, the largest expansion and renewal project in the history of St. Lawrence College. Premier Wynne will be accompanied on the tour by Student Association President Beth Insley, Business Administration – Marketing student Sarah Maracle, and SLC President and CEO Glenn Vollebregt. Her tour will also take her to visit Davies Hall and the new Innovation Hub.

“We have much to be proud of at St. Lawrence College – the skills of our students, the commitment of our faculty, and our newly renovated and expanded state-of-the-art facilities – and I look forward to welcoming Premier Wynne to Kingston today to meet our students and tour the campus. Our students have a wonderful opportunity as well to engage the premier in conversations about postsecondary education,” said Glenn Vollebregt.
