Speaker Series at St. Lawrence College includes “dads” of Esther the Wonder Pig

Human Resources students at St. Lawrence College are pleased to host their fifth annual free speaker series event on February 9, 2017. This year’s event, includes the “dads” of the social media sensation, Esther the Wonder Pig, Steve Jenkins and Derek Walter.

After their talk, Steve and Derek will be available for a book signing in the Alumni Fireside Lounge for their New York Times Best Selling book, Esther the Wonder Pig: Changing the World One Heart at a Time. Books will be available for purchase at the campus bookstore or you can bring your own copy.

Speaker Bios

Steve Jenkins and Derek Walter

In just a few short years, Steve Jenkins and Derek Walter have become two of the the world’s most well-known and successful animal activists. With a focus on humour, and creating lasting connections between people and animals, their "kindness is magic" approach to advocacy has caught the attention of well millions of followers around the world. In 2014, Steve and Derek founded the Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary in Campbellville, Ontario, where they continue to rescue abandoned and abused farm animals.

Dr. Thabo

Dr. Thabo is a medical doctor, motivational speaker and mentor. Having overcome personal and professional obstacles, her powerful story encourages this generation to face and conquer their challenges. Dr. Thabo envisions a world where women have the opportunity to become the best versions of themselves and create the world they desire. At the age of 14, she made a promise to her dying mother to become a doctor. Her journey has been one filled with loss, pain, mistakes, resilience, and faith. She is now on a mission to empower, educate, and encourage this generation to use pain as a catalyst toward living a life of purpose. 

Rob Howard

Throughout his 20-year marketing career, Rob has worked with brands big and small around the world. Five years ago, Rob set out to unlock the genetic code of the world's most coveted, cult brands. He emerged enlightened, helped found a marketing firm, Cult Collective, a think tank, a global summit, The Gathering, and wrote a book, Fix: Break the Addiction That's Killing Brands, to help enlighten others.
