International students get a head start this May!

2015-12-07, 10:06 AM

Starting May 2016, St. Lawrence College will offer and early start in 20 of our programs across our three campuses for international students, giving them an important chance to settle into their new surroundings during the summer before joining their peers full time in the fall.

The summer semester will run for 12 weeks beginning in May 2016 and participating students will be able to complete some courses in the summer, reducing the course load in the remaining semesters.

Beginning in May will allow more time for individual courses throughout the program, according to Don Young, Dean of International Education at St. Lawrence College. “The summer is an important time for our students coming from overseas to acclimatize to life in Canada, as well as learning in English, and to build their social networks in preparation for the fall,” he said.

Students will be able to live in our comfortable and convenient residence for a reduced summer fee. Students will be charged for the first, third and following semesters. There will be no tuition and fees charged for the second semester.
