SLC brings home Gold, again!

2015-06-04, 11:05 AM

St. Lawrence College is thrilled to announce that Esthetician student Macaila McLeod, from Sydenham, ON, won the Gold medal at the National Skills Competition in Saskatoon on May 28 and 29. As well, she earned the highest score of Ontario competitors with a score of 95%.

Macaila competed with 10 other students from across Canada. They competed in the following services: Advanced facial with electrotherapy, manicure with nail art, evening and fantasy make up and body treatment with lomi-lomi massage.

“Not only did I have to perform my services in front of the judges but also in front of over a thousand spectators,” Macaila said.  “I am so lucky to have the support of my fellow classmates and instructors. I honestly don’t think I could have accomplished this without them.”

Macaila’s gold medal win is the latest in a long streak of wins at provincial and national skills competitions for students in the SLC Esthetician program. Read about our successes in the last few years.
