The College Student Alliance Leadership Scholarship Recipients Announced


TORONTO, ON January 26th, 2015 - The College Student Alliance (CSA) Leadership Scholarship recognizes up to fifteen outstanding student leaders across Ontario who have demonstrated exceptional work on campus and in their community. Today the recipients of the fifth annual CSA Leadership Scholarship are recognized publicly.

"This year’s applicants were a truly outstanding group and I am honoured to have been a part of the selection process," says Matt Stewart, President of the College Student Alliance. "The CSA Leadership has evolved over the past five years and you can look for further growth in the next year."

For the 2014-2015 application period, the College Student Alliance received applications from student leaders at thirteen colleges across Ontario. The scholarship has been awarded to college students who demonstrate leadership within their college and community, who show an ability to motivate others and who are in good academic standing.

We are pleased to award thirteen $1,000 scholarships to the following students: 

Meet Thakkar, Cambrian College
Nickza Dalas, Centennial College
Shannon Connolly, Conestoga College
Jordan Vezeau, Confederation College
Rumman Ullah Khan, Fanshawe College
Alycia Beatty, Fleming College
Lauren Balsdon, Georgian College
Shivanie Mangal, Humber College
Monica MacNeil, Niagara College
Amanda Adamo, Northern College
Micayla Patterson, Sault College
Maya Stanisic, St. Clair College
Natasha Gatza, St. Lawrence College

The above recipients will receive their award by mid-March at an awards presentation or equivalent hosted by their Student Association or College, unless otherwise communicated. Each recipient will receive a certificate, a letter of recognition, and a financial award of $1,000.00 from the CSA.

The College Student Alliance (CSA) is an advocacy organization, which has been proudly serving Ontario’s college students since 1975. The CSA currently represents 15 colleges and 21 student associations with over 130,000 full-time student members throughout the province.
