An Artist’s View the 7th Annual Juried Show presented by Marianne van Silfhout Gallery

St. Lawrence College is pleased to present “An Artist’s View”, the 7th Annual Juried Show at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery from October 23 to November 28, 2014. The opening reception will take place at the Gallery on Saturday, October 25, from 1:00 to 3:00pm.

 The show features artists from across Eastern Ontario. In all, there will be 25 artists exhibiting a variety of styles and mediums. From the traditional to the contemporary, works will include paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolour, sculpture, pottery, photography, and mixed media designs.

Artists displaying work in the show include: Dorothy A. Adlington, Karen Atcheson, Lynne Bowker, Joyce Buckley, Barb Carr, David Craig, Barry Fawcett, Marion Forster, Lisa Free, Elsie Gallinger, Jyneen Horton, Renate Hulley, Alex Jack, Inge Kern, Jim Kilgour, Alex Loshak, Elaine McClintock, John McClintock, Colleen O'Connell, Barbra Patrick, Nancy Paul, Joanne Ralph, Heather J. Smith, Sharon Stein and Julie Withrow.

Concurrently, the Library Exhibition Space is exhibiting a variety of work by Brockville artist, and recent Visual & Creative Arts Fine Arts graduate, Dayne Henry.  A portfolio collection of Hollywood and pop-cultural images showcases Dayne's abilities in a number of mediums, including oils, pencil crayon, photography, and digital art.

About the Art Gallery
The Marianne van Silfhout Gallery is a state-of-the-art community art gallery located at the front atrium of the Brockville campus of St. Lawrence College and is a focus for the visual arts for Brockville and the larger Eastern Ontario area. Creation of the gallery was made possible by the generous bequest from the Estate of Marianne van Silfhout, a graduate of the Fine Arts program at St. Lawrence College, and other contributors to the St. Lawrence College Foundation.
