40 artists display artwork in Marianne van Silfhout Gallery’s 6th Annual Juried Show

BROCKVILLE – St. Lawrence College is pleased to present “Freedom”, the 6th Annual Juried Show at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery November 8 to December 14, 2013. The opening reception will take place at the Gallery on Saturday, November 9, from 1:00 to 3:00pm, and will feature musical guest, pianist Andrew Morley.

The show features artists from across Eastern Ontario and into Quebec. In all, there will be more than 40 artists exhibiting a variety of styles and mediums. From the traditional to the contemporary, works will include paintings in oil, acrylic, and watercolour, sculpture, pottery, photography, and mixed media designs.

Artists displaying work in the show include: Janice Andrews, Paul Armstrong, Joyce Buckley, Caroline Buyers, Barb Carr, Vera Donefer, Virginia Dupuis, Marian Forster, Elsie Gallinger, Heather Griffith, Marg Grothier, Arlene Hare, Ronald Headland, Dayne Henry, Renate Hulley, Alex Jack, Inge Kern, Jim Kilgour, MiSun Kim-Hunter, Aline La Fleche, Kathy Lavender, Alex Loshak, Hanna MacNaughton, Jesse McMahon, Gillian Morden, Nancy Paul, Connie Porteous, Fraser Radford, Roger Sutcliffe, Terry Tinkess, Henry Vyfvinkel, Kelly Williams, and Julie Withrow.

Concurrently on display in the Gallery foyer is a display of artwork by St. Lawrence College Online and Continuing Education students.

About the Art Gallery
The Marianne van Silfhout Gallery is a state-of-the-art community art gallery located at the front atrium of the Brockville campus of St. Lawrence College and is a focus for the visual arts for Brockville and the larger Eastern Ontario area. Creation of the gallery was made possible by the generous bequest from the Estate of Marianne van Silfhout, a graduate of the Fine Arts program at St. Lawrence College, and other contributors to the St. Lawrence College Foundation.
