Fine Arts students showcase talent and creativity today in “Grand Allusions” exhibit

BROCKVILLE – Students in the Visual & Creative Arts – Fine Arts program at St. Lawrence College will display their art in “Grand Allusions”, an exhibit at the Brockville campus on Wednesday, December 12 from noon until 1:30 p.m.
This exhibit will showcase the first year students’ monumental drawing project, large 6 feet by 8 feet self-portraits. The portraits are designed to challenge the students’ skills in both representation and expressive ideals of self. Attendees will see these large scale drawings in differing media and covering a large range of topics that are meaningful to each artist. There will also be dynamic sculpture works on display.
“We invite you to attend the exhibit and discover these talented and expressive artists,” says Andrew Hamilton, professor and coordinator of the Visual & Creative Arts – Fine Arts program at St. Lawrence College. “The exhibit also offers an opportunity for those interested in creative arts to learn more about our program.”
The Visual & Creative Arts – Fine Arts Program at St. Lawrence College allows students to discover their unique style and artistic expression through drawing, painting and printmaking in traditional and nontraditional media and advanced studio practices. Recently the program has also added the new challenging courses in sculpture, the business of art, curatorial practices, and an exchange program in Barbados.
