New members to St. Lawrence College Board of Governors welcomed

St. Lawrence College is pleased to welcome three new community members to our Board of Governors for 2012-13. The St. Lawrence College Board of Governors consists of twelve community members, the President & CEO and four members of the college community. The Board of Governors provides a vital link between the college and the community, as well as being responsible for establishing the college mission and overseeing the strategic direction of the College.

"We are so pleased to welcome our new esteemed community members to our Board of Governors," said Paul Fitzpatrick, Chair of the Board of Governors.

Michael Adamcryck, Brockville
Michael Adamcryck is currently a Regional Vice President with the Royal Bank of Canada and is responsible for the retail banking network, financial planning and small business for the Kingston-Quinte region. Michael resides in Brockville.

Kathy O’Brien, Kingston
Kathy O’Brien is the Executive Director, Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic) at Queen’s University, responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic). Kathy resides in Kingston.

Steve Thompson, Kingston
Steve Thompson brings over 35 years of experience working closely with Boards of Directors, Trustees, and Municipal Council Members in senior management and strategic planning roles in both the private and public sectors. Steve resides in the Kingston area.

They join the following board members:

Paul Fitzpatrick - 12/13 Chair
Paul Fitzpatrick retired as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Corporation of the City of Cornwall in the spring of 2012. Paul is a Board member of the St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre and a Trustee of the St. Lawrence River Institute Foundation. Paul resides in Cornwall.

Mike Hennessy - 12/13 Vice-Chair
Michael Hennessy is the Dean of Continuing Studies and Professor of History and War Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston. Mike has numerous publications within his field of expertise. Mike resides in Kingston.

Heather Lawless - 12/13 Vice-Chair
Heather Lawless is the Executive Director of the Grenville Community Futures Development Corporation, based in Prescott and serving Grenville County. Heather resides in the Cornwall area.

Jennifer Fisher
Jennifer Fisher is a Chartered Accountant and a partner of Wilkinson & Company, LLP. Jennifer is on the Board of Directors of the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation and a member of the Board of Directors of Providence Care Foundations. Jennifer resides in Kingston.

Doug Hogeboom
Doug Hogeboom retired as President and CEO of The Empire Life Insurance Company in 2008 and currently serves on a variety of Boards in the area. He was the Campaign Chair for the 2006 United Way of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington campaign. Doug resides in the Kingston area.

Heather Lalonde
Heather Lalonde is the Executive Director of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario Inc. Heather resides in Cornwall.

Gordon C. MacDougall - Ex-Officio
Gordon C. MacDougall is the Interim President & CEO of St. Lawrence College. Gordon resides in Kingston.

Bonnie Ruest
Bonnie Ruest is the Executive Director of the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre in Cornwall. Bonnie resides in Cornwall.

Marc Schaefer
Marc Schaefer retired from the Upper Canada District School Board as the Superintendent of Education in 1999. He continues to work as a consultant in the field of education. Marc resides in Cornwall.

Bob Snelgrove
Bob Snelgrove is the President and Chief Technical Officer of GerrAudio Distribution, a company he founded in 1976. Bob contributes both his time and resources to the Brockville Arts Centre, United Way and many other local causes and needs. Bob is also a voted member of the Brockville and Area Music Hall of Fame. Bob resides in Brockville.

Leslie Casson (Faculty Rep.)
Leslie Casson is a Communications professor and the Coordinator of the General Arts & Science program at St. Lawrence College’s Kingston campus.

Amanda Lacosse (Support Staff Rep.)
Amanda Lacosse joined the staff of St. Lawrence College’s Cornwall campus in June 2010 as Administrative Assistant to the Campus Dean.

Louis Savard (Student Rep.)
Louis Savard is a third year student on the Cornwall campus and is President of the Cornwall Student Association.

Lynn Walker (Administrative Rep.)
Lynn Walker has been employed at St. Lawrence College for the past 25 years in various areas including the President's Office, Placement, Recruiting and, for the last 15 years, in Continuing and Distance Education.
