Celebrity chef to visit St. Lawrence College

(Kingston, ON) St. Lawrence College is pleased to announce that celebrity chef Michael Smith will visit the Kingston campus of St. Lawrence College on Friday, September 28, 2012 to engage with our staff and students on the critical issues associated with sustainable food.

Michael with be providing a short talk and book signing session in the lower link corridor from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. His newest publication Fast Flavours will be available for $25.00.

A small farmer's market by Bayview Farms will also be set-up in the link at that time for our staff and students to purchase selected offerings from some of Kingston's best producers in the local food movement. All purchases that day are cash only.

Chef Michael Smith, Canada’s best-known chef is the winner of the James Beard Award for Cooking Show Excellence and host of Chef Abroad, Chef at Home, Chef at Large and The Inn Chef on Food Network Canada and in more than 100 other countries.

Michael is Prince Edward Island’s official food ambassador, an award winning cookbook author, newspaper columnist, professional chef and home cook. In 2010 he led the team of chefs that cooked for the worlds Olympians in the Whistler Athletes Village. He is the National Sustainability Advocate for Sodexo, one of the worlds largest food service management companies.
