Third Annual Alumni Juried Show - The Inner Essence


St. Lawrence College and the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery are pleased to announce the Third Annual Alumni Juried Art Show, entitled "The Inner Essence," on view from Friday, September 24 to Monday, October 25. The show features works by Heidi Cornel, Sophia Doyle, Virginia Dupuis, Marian Forster, Marg Grothier, Arlene Hare, Keith Hare, Jyneen Horton, Mike Laking, Solange Leman, Elaine McClintock, John McClintock, Rozalind Phillips, Susan Tooker, Henry Vyfvinkel, and Donna Wiegand.

The exhibition will include a variety of media such as photography, oil, acrylic, mixed media, sculpture, watercolour, pottery and digital giclee. "The alumni shows are exciting as we see diverse styles which the alumni have developed since their graduation from St. Lawrence College," said Marje Fletcher, curator of the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery. "This is a wonderful opportunity for both our students, staff, and wider community to experience the depth and range of artistic expression developing here at St. Lawrence College."

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 30, 5 to 7 pm.
As a special event, please join us for "A Toast to Henry," as we say farewell to Henry Vyfvinkel. Henry has officially retired from teaching at St Lawrence College. We invite you to come and wish him well as his artistic journey continues.

About the Art Gallery
The Marianne van Silfhout Gallery is a state-of-the-art community art gallery located at the front atrium of the Brockville campus of St. Lawrence College and is a focus for the visual arts for Brockville and the larger Eastern Ontario area. Creation of the gallery was made possible by the generous bequest from the Estate of Marianne van Silfhout, a graduate of the Fine Art program at St. Lawrence College, and other contributors to the St. Lawrence Foundation.
