Artist Statement
The ripples in sand on the beach
the contour lines on a topographic map
the pattern that whirligig beetles make on the surface of calm water
an ancient legend or an urban myth
a newspaper headline
a poem or a choice bit of doggerel
the pinging of raindrops on a pond
the arc of a phrase of music
a graph in a scientific paper
the colourful bits of plastic and metal inside a computer
even the litter at the side of the road,
so many things inspire me.
Challenge me to express that spark of inspiration
urge me to distill the essence of what fascinates me
drive me to research and experiment with techniques
to create fibre art.
