Free parking available at St. Lawrence College

New this year! Park at St. Lawrence College and travel to the ceremony by Kingston Transit for FREE.

Due to extensive construction and the high volume of attendees for this event, there will not be sufficient parking in downtown Kingston to accommodate all graduates and guests who will attend Convocation.

Conveniently, St. Lawrence College has partnered with Kingston Transit this year to provide complimentary round-trip bus passes for all guests attending convocation. Graduates simply need to bring their student cards which will be used as their bus pass.

How to park and ride:

  • Graduates, guests, and staff will park at the College at no charge.
  • Please check in at the “Bus to Convocation” sign located near the bus lane at the front doors of the College.
  • Convocation representatives will provide guests a round-trip bus pass and advise of upcoming buses to the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
  • Wait at the designated bus route area in order to catch bus downtown.
  • Arrive at designated stop downtown, welcomed by a Convocation representative.
  • Walk down the street, approximately 3 or 5 blocks, to the front doors of the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
  • After the ceremony, use your student card or bus pass to ride back to St. Lawrence College from the downtown transfer point at Brock St. and Bagot St.

Travel Tip!

In order to make your Kingston Transit rides run smoothly, please review the routes ahead of time through the “Trip Planner” on the City of Kingston website.

When should I arrive at the College?

  • Graduates – Please ensure to arrive at the College at least 1.5 hours prior to the start of your ceremony. This is necessary to allow time to ride downtown and check in backstage.
  • Guests – Please allow approximately 25 minutes to travel from the College to the Rogers K-Rock Centre. The doors to the Convocation ceremony will open 75 minutes prior to the start of each ceremony. Seating is done on a first come, first served basis. However, given the large scale of the venue, we have always been able to find seating for everyone.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces will be available in City lots and on-street parking spaces. There will be numerous marked accessible parking spots in the Frontenac Lot which is adjacent to the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Daytime rates will be in effect and both coin and credit card are accepted. All on-street parking and surface lot parking is free after 5:30 p.m.

What if I want to stay downtown after the ceremony?

No problem! Your bus pass will be valid as long as the buses are running. Please confirm times by visiting the Kingston Transit website.
