Student - Alumni InitiativesAlumni Speakers ProgramOur academic faculty often draw upon our own pool of graduates to serve as guest speakers in our classrooms. In addition to providing real-world perspective, our alumni also serve to strengthen the connection between a St. Lawrence education and a successful career. The Alumni Relations office, with the support of a grant from the St. Lawrence College Foundation, are pleased to provide exclusive Alumni copper travel mugs, which host faculty members can present as a token of thanks to graduates who “give something back” in this way. Student Awards and BursariesEach fall, representatives from our local Alumni Branches in Brockville, Cornwall and Kingston are on hand at our Student Awards Nights to present current students with awards and bursaries. Specifically, students may be eligible for the Alumni Association Bursary, and / or the TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Children of Alumni Bursary. The TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Children of Alumni Bursary is funded by royalties generated through the TD Insurance Meloche Monnex alumni affinity partnership for home and auto insurance. Convocation Pin ProgramRepresentatives from our local Alumni Branches are on hand at convocation ceremonies on each campus to address the graduating class, and to formally welcome them as the newest members of the Alumni Association. As a tangible reminder of their new status, each graduate, after receiving his or her diploma, is greeted by an alumnus who personally congratulates them, and presents them with lapel pin of the College logo, which we encourage them to wear as a symbol of their pride in being a St. Lawrence College graduate.
