Questions about semester finish dates and/or the need to carry over fall semester work into January will be answered as quickly as possible after consultation with faculty. There are program and course-specific issues that must be addressed. Please be patient as we balance the need to meet all essential learning outcomes with minimizing the impact on you, the students.

Monday, November 20 - Faculty Prep for Resumption of Teaching

Our teachers will be back at work on Monday, November 20. They will spend one day preparing for the return of students and the resumption of teaching.

You are welcome to come to the college on Monday, November 20 to make use of college resources. However, faculty will be busy this day with meetings and planning related to semester completion. Please delay any requests for meetings, etc. with your professors until classes have resumed.

Tuesday, November 21 - Return to Class

Students should return to their classes as scheduled on Tuesday, November 21.

Campus Deans and Associate Deans will be communicating directly with students through their St. Lawrence College email accounts with program-specific directions. Please check your inbox over the next several days.

New Timetable information will be available on slc.me. Please refer to your course Blackboard sites and/or program hubs for additional information.

If you are not scheduled to have any classes on the first day back, please refer to your course Blackboard sites and/or program hubs for information.

Laurentian Collaborative Degree Programs

  • BScN: If you had classes scheduled for the first day back, then please attend your classes as per your original fall term timetable. If you had clinical placement scheduled for the first day back, check your SLC email and Blackboard for campus/year/course-specific directions from your professors.
  • BBA: Please attend classes as per your original fall term timetable. The room locations and times have not changed.

Programs With Block Placements

  • Behavioural Science Technology - Year 2 and Year 3: Please check your Blackboard site for specific information.
  • Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology - Year 4: Please check your Blackboard site for specific information.

Community & Justice Services

  • Section 101: Placements will resume as soon as possible. Please check your course site on Blackboard and your SLC email for specific instructions. Information will be posted as soon as the status of each placement is confirmed. Details will likely appear some time on Monday, November 20.
  • Section 102: Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21; however, the class schedule will have changed. Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor. New timetable information will be uploaded to your PeopleSoft account some time on Monday, November 20.

Community Integration through Co-operative Education (CICE)

  • Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. Please consult your class Blackboard site and CICE Program Hub on Blackboard for further instructions.

Field Placements and Clinical Settings

If you are scheduled to be on field placement or in clinical on Tuesday, November 21, please check your course site on Blackboard for specific instructions. Course-specific information will be posted as soon as the status of each placement or clinical is confirmed. Details will likely only appear some time on Monday, November 20.

Apprenticeships - Block Release

Block release apprenticeship students who were in class when the strike began: Please refer to your timetable and go to the first class scheduled for Tuesday, November 21. Your classes will resume and pick-up from where you were in your program. Classes will continue through to December 22, break over Christmas, and resume on January 2. Finish dates will be determined as quickly as possible after consultation with faculty.

Block release apprenticeship students whose class was scheduled to begin on October 23: Please refer to your timetable that was sent to you in your welcome package from St. Lawrence College and go to the first class scheduled for Tuesday, November 21. Completion plans for your intake will be communicated when you return.

Apprenticeships - Day Release

Day release apprenticeship students who were in class when the strike began: Please refer to your timetable and go to the first class scheduled for on your regular class day. Your classes will resume and pick-up from where you were in your program. Classes will continue through to December 22, break over Christmas, and resume on January 2. Questions about intake finish dates will be answered as quickly as possible after consultation with faculty. All learning outcomes will be addressed with an effort to minimize impact on you, the apprentices.

Business Programs with 7-1-7 Timetables

7-1-7 students in Kingston School of Business programs: Please refer to your second cycle timetable and go to the first class scheduled for Tuesday, November 21. Completion plans for the first 7-week cycle will be communicated when you return.

Part-time students in the Kingston School of Business who were only taking one course in the first 7 weeks (7-1-7) of the Fall semester: Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor.

Career/College Prep

Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21 and will follow the regular Fall term schedule on your campus. Schedules are posted in the College Prep classroom and available on Blackboard.

Online Education

  • Online Courses: Online courses that were suspended during the strike will resume the same day as classes on Tuesday, November 21.
  • ECE Online: If your classes were cancelled during the strike, classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor. Students are also encouraged to continue their readings and monitor their email for more details.
  • Online GENE Courses: Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor.
  • OntarioLearn Courses: Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. You will receive further instructions from your professor within the online course site. Students are also encouraged to continue their readings and monitor their email for more details.

Continuing & Part-Time Education

For Continuing Education students whose classes were cancelled during the strike, class dates TBA.

For part-time students taking a 15-week class, classes will resume on: date TBA. Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor.

High School OYAP Students

High school OYAP students enrolled in a Dual Credit course (in class with college apprenticeship students): Please refer to your timetable and go to the first class scheduled for Tuesday, November 21. Your classes will resume and pick-up from where you were in your program. Classes will continue through to December 22, break over Christmas, and resume on January 2. Finish dates will be confirmed as quickly as possible after consultation with faculty.

High school OYAP student in a congregated class (in class with other secondary school students): Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. Please refer to your timetable and go to the first class scheduled for date. You will complete the final two weeks of your program level from that point.

Dual Credit

High school students enrolled in a Dual Credit course (in class with college students): Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. For information on your specific class, please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor.

High school students in a congregated class (in class with other secondary school students): Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 21. Your congregated class will take place on the same day and time as previously scheduled. Please consult your class Blackboard site for further instructions from your professor.
