Silfab Solar

St. Lawrence Colleges’ Sustainable Energy Applied Research Centre (SEARC) together with Silfab Solar conducted a study on Specific Yield Improvements and Increased Snow Shedding Capability by Application of Bifacial PV Modules.

In 2016, SEARC at St. Lawrence College installed multiple bifacial modules at multiple angles next to the conventional monofacial panels. SEARC monitored and logged their performance over 10 months to compare the results of the performance of the bifacial panels vs. the monofacial panels.

The completion of this study allowed Silfab Solar to:

● Provide optimization data to their clients

● Track internal optimization

● Measure the amount of financial savings

● Test new features in a study
