Ontario Trust for Student Support

In the fall of 2005, the Ontario government launched a new matching gift program, Ontario Trust for Student Support, to promote student success by creating endowed bursaries to improve access to postsecondary education.

The Trust will increase access and opportunities for students, expand fundraising capacity at Ontario’s colleges and universities, and promote a culture of giving to support students.

Through the Trust, the government will make funds available every year to match private and corporate cash donations used by St. Lawrence College to set up bursary endowment funds. Investment income generated by these endowment funds will support bursaries for students who are in financial need.
